Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Judgey mobile app (the "service"), published by Arctic Eagle Consulting ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Judgey. If you're under 18 in your jurisdiction, you must have a parent or legal guardian's permission to use the app and to make any in-app purchase.

2. Your account

You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials and for all activity on your account. Notify us immediately at arcticeagleconsulting@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit secrets, handles, or content that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, infringing, or harmful.
• Harass other players, attempt to expose their real identity, or use the chat-like surfaces to deliver spam or scams.
• Reverse-engineer the app, the AI umpire prompts, or the matchmaking logic; or otherwise attempt to bypass quota limits, authentication, or subscription checks.
• Use bots, automated scripts, or any non-human means to play the game.
• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules, with or without notice.

4. AI-generated content

Judgey uses Google Gemini to validate secrets and adjudicate questions. The AI umpire's verdicts and snark are generated content; they reflect the model's interpretation of the secret and the question, not the publisher's opinion. Outputs may occasionally be wrong, biased, or inappropriate. Don't treat them as factual claims about real people, events, or outcomes outside the game.

5. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds

Judgey offers an optional Unlimited subscription via Apple's StoreKit:

• Monthly: $9.99 / month, auto-renewing.
• Yearly: $59.99 / year, auto-renewing (saves ~50% vs monthly).

Free users get 3 games per day across global match and practice. The quota resets daily at midnight UTC. Subscribers get unlimited access.

Payment is processed by Apple and charged to your Apple ID. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each period until cancelled in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Refund requests are handled by Apple. We can't issue refunds directly. Submit refund requests at reportaproblem.apple.com.

6. Intellectual property

The Judgey app, brand, code, AI prompts, and design are owned by Arctic Eagle Consulting. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control. Submitted secrets and game data remain yours; you grant us a license to host, transmit, and display them as needed to run the service.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee uninterrupted access, accurate AI verdicts, or that the service will meet your expectations.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Arctic Eagle Consulting will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) US$50.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Arctic Eagle Consulting and its principals from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the service.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the service or our legal obligations change. The "Last updated" date will reflect the most recent change. For material changes (e.g., new pricing tiers, new restrictions on use), we'll send active subscribers an in-app notification. Continued use of Judgey constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising under these terms will be brought in the courts located in Toronto, Ontario.

12. Apple-specific terms

You acknowledge that these terms are between you and Arctic Eagle Consulting only — not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for Judgey. In the event of any failure to conform to applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, who will refund the purchase price of the app to you (if any). Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms with the right to enforce them.
